I’m a freelance writer & musician with a Ph.D. in Musicology living in West Hartford, CT.
My big iPod broke, and I can’t afford a new one. I’m stuck with a Mini. So, while distilling my take-along music collection down to 4GB of songs, I’ve finally gotten around to figuring out why certain songs make the cut while others don’t. Here’s where I’ll publish the results.
It’s like a really slow radio station with a long-winded DJ.Follow me on Twitter (4GBs).
Music analysis that is successful only when you are withdrawn in some soundproof ivory tower is still undeveloped.
Please feel free to leave comments, good, bad, or indifferent. I love reading them.

would recommend you take in Gavin Castleton’s album called “Home.” All his record are impressive, compositionaly, but that one has me completely bewildered. Would love to see your analysis
Thanks for the recommendation, Grant. I will certainly check it out. I don’t know any music by that artist, and I’m always looking for new stuff. Cheers.
